After watching the UBC “Academic Honesty” lesson, the key aspects of academic honesty in my Technology Integration Activity are as follows:

  • Ensuring Patient Confidentiality and Privacy: Since these wound care video tutorials will demonstrate procedures on real patients in clinical settings, it is essential to protect patient privacy. This includes removing or blurring any patient identifiers on screen, as well as any identifiers related to hospital staff or facilities, to ensure full confidentiality.
  • Maintaining Accuracy and Integrity of Content: It is necessary that the tutorials present accurate, evidence-based information reflecting current best practices and policies in wound care. As these videos are intended as supplementary educational tools, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy ensures they are valuable counterparts to clinical training.
  • Protecting Tutorial Confidentiality: To uphold academic honesty, students will be reminded that the content in these videos is strictly for educational use within the classroom or clinical setting and should not be discussed or shared outside these environments. A clear statement within each video will reinforce that the tutorials are intended solely for learning purposes and may not be reproduced or recreated.

This approach will help to protect the privacy of individuals involved in the videos while ensuring students understand and adhere to academic honesty principles regarding the ethical use of these learning resources.
